Good Goods Fine Art For Over 25 Years In Saugatuck

Posted on: September 16, 2018   |   Posted in: Art, News, Things To Do In Saugatuck

Spend some time at Good Goods Fine Design & American Craft during your getaway to Wickwood Inn’s bed and breakfast in downtown Saugatuck Michigan. Good Goods has been bringing us the best of handmade in America for over twenty five years. Featuring more than 150 artists, each of the goods has a lasting quality that will bring even more joy into your daily life. Why? Because this Saugatuck fine art gallery’s owner, Sandra Randolph, believes that living with art brings us pleasure.

We couldn’t agree more!

“If you hear a voice within you say, ‘You cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced”
Vincent Van Gogh

About Good Goods

Randolph began Good Goods in 1989 as a small one-room shop in an historic Italianate building once used as a rooming house.  Today, after years of work and restoration, Good Goods occupies the entire building plus a lovely garden area, conveniently in downtown Saugatuck.

Randolph states, “When I opened Good Goods I had a strong vision of what I wanted it to be. Handmade products have the love, care, and skill of the artist within them.  Our name Good Goods reflects a thought of Charles Eames: that there are some goods that have a special quality – a quality that you feel when you touch them, see them, live with them.  You may pay a little more to begin with but you can spend a lifetime with them. It is a joy to be surrounded everyday by beautiful objects that have such a lasting design quality.”

The collection of ceramics, fine art, furniture, glass, gifts, jewelry, sculpture, and wearables will delight and impress. Some serious, some whimsical … all special.

“Creativity is more than just being different. Anybody can plan weird; that’s easy. What’s hard is to be as simple as Bach. Making the simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity”
~ Charles Mingus

Saugatuck Along The Way

All this goodness is an easy 5 minute walk through downtown Saugatuck from Wickwood Inn. Of course, we wouldn’t blame you if needed to make a stop at Charlie’s for an ice cream cone, at Uncommon Grounds for that cup of coffee, or at Mitten for a pint of beer along the way. All that and more are available en route.
